Biography:

Teddy Mantoro has already passed his PhD thesis examination (16 January 2006). His thesis is on the ubiquitous computing area, with special focus on context-aware computing and distributed architecture for Intelligent Environments. Teddy frequently works under pressure and works on multiple projects at the same time. He has direct involvement in complex business systems and with a wide range of software and hardware. He has experience with various relational database systems including Foxpro, MS-Access, and Delphy, operating systems including DOS, UNIX (Sun Solaris, IRIX and Linux), Windows 95/98SE/ME/NT4/2000/XP, OS2, VMS, Mac, and Novell NetWare. Development tools and languages include Visual Basic, Cobol, Fortran, Pascal, C/C++, CAMLlight, Prolog, Perl and Java. CASE includes Easy-case, OOATools, Playground and Excelerator-IS. Hardware experience includes IBM Mainframe, Data General Mainframe, VAX Mini Computers, Sun Solaris, Aydin, HP, Tektronix and Dell Servers.

Previous Positions:

Whilst doing his PhD, he has also been working as a Computer Systems Administrator at the Department of Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, the Australian National University (2000-present). Formerly, he worked as the Head of Department of Computer Science and a Lecturer at the University of Budi-Luhur, in Jakarta, Indonesia (1995-1999). As a lecturer, he also supervised several students doing their final year projects. Prior to the lecturer position, He was a Systems Analyst at the Asian Institute of Technology in Bangkok, Thailand (1992-1995); and an Electronic Data Processing (EDP) Manager at the Microsoft Indonesia in Jakarta, Indonesia (1991-1992).

Qualifications:

Bachelor degree and Master of Science in Computer Science

Context Aware Computing, Pervasive Computing, Ubiquitous Computing, User Location, User Mobility, User Activity, Environment response, Context Aware Computing Evaluation.
