NEVILLE J ROACH, AO, CHAIRMAN

Mr Roach graduated from the University of Bombay, India with a BA (Honours) majoring in Economics and Political Science. He also holds a Doctor of Science, Honoris Causa, University of New South Wales. Neville has spent 37 years in senior CEO and Chairman positions in publicly listed companies including 15 years at IBM Australia and 22 years at Fujitsu. Mr Roach was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) in January 2000 for service to business, particularly in the Information Technology industry and for his contribution to the development of Australian Multiculturalism.

Mr Roach is married, has three children and six grandchildren. He has a love of all sports - especially cricket and Sumo wrestling.


MR BOB MOUNIC

Bob Mounic is a former Australian Government Trade Commissioner and CEO of the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA). He has also held senior executive positions in Oracle and Sun Microsystems.

Bob is currently Chairman of Mediaware Solutions and SV Corporation, and a Director of Smart Internet Technology Pty Ltd and iPlatinum Pty Ltd. Previous Independent Board appointments include The Distillery Pty Ltd, Prometheus Information Pty Ltd and Piction Pty Ltd. He has also served on the Advisory Boards of other developing IT companies.

Bob brings many years of experience in assisting numerous Australian IT Companies raise development capital, commercialise their intellectual property and exploit global markets.

Bob earned a BA in Economics from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He is married and has two children and two grandsons.


LEE ASTHEIMER

BSc Hon. Lakehead University, Thunder Bay, Ontario Canada 1976; PhD University California, Davis, USA 1984. National Institutes of Health –NIMH Postdoctoral Award 1988-1991 University of Washington, Seattle, USA.

Astheimer’s research is in the area of comparative endocrinology and behaviour related to nutrition, reproduction and stress in vertebrates including humans. She has had academic appointments at Rutger’s University, New Jersey, USA, the University of Tasmania and since 1994 at the University of Wollongong.

Over the past 12 years Lee has held numerous faculty and university positions related to research management and development. She currently is a member of advisory boards of three research centres and has accepted nomination to the ARC College of Experts for 2008.

She was appointed Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research) in 2006 and is responsible for managing research development and policy, engagement with industry and government, recruitment and research student support.



PROFESSOR LES FIELD

Professor Les Field was appointed to the position of Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) at the University of New South Wales in March 2005.
